Everyone should have sex in public at least once in their life. If you've ever tried, you'll know it's one of the more thrilling sexual experiences you can have. The risk of getting caught adds a level of intensity that's hard to match in the bedroom. I think this makes it one of the best genres of porn. There is an undeniable realness to the act, regardless of whether performed by professionals or amateurs. It's
happening - in a real place around real people. Although satisfying to watch, it can be terrifying to create. If you're thinking about trying, here are a couple things you should keep in mind.
1. Be Mindful of Pedestrians
It may be tempting to whip out your camera and start indiscriminately filming everything in sight, but remember that not everyone wants to be a part of your film - adult or not. For this reason, most video hosting sites require release forms from everyone appearing in the video. Violating this rule will often result in demonetization, which NOBODY wants. An easy way to get around this in a crowded space is to film at a downward angle with the camera at chest height to avoid getting any faces in frame. The viewer can still tell that you are in public, and you won't get sued/demonetized/etc . If a bystander does accidentally cross paths with your shoot, you can always blur their face using your editing software of choice. While this will do the trick, it can add significant time and effort to your edit.
2. Mix it Up
When it comes to risk aversion, not every location is created equal. That crowded park in the city center comes with 100% probability of getting caught, while that sketchy alley behind the abandoned warehouse is probably much safer (well maybe not "safer"). Use a mix of locations to get the most out of public spaces while avoiding risk. The initial pickup could be on a busy street corner, but move locations to someplace a little more out-of-sight when you take your pants off.
3. Be Aware of Local Laws
Different states and countries have different rules. While the US is generally anti sex-in-public, some cities and states even have strict rules regarding the production of porn - like the mandatory use of condoms or even an outright ban. Be aware of this when choosing your location. If the city you are in doesn't support the content you are creating, you may want to avoid shooting near public landmarks that are easily identifiable.
4. Be Quick
When you can be caught at any moment, time is of the essence. This is an obvious one, but something to think about before you even leave the house. Make sure you are 100% confident in your equipment and avoid bringing equipment that takes a lot of time to setup. If you haven't used that new shotgun mic you recently purchased, now is not the time to try it out. If your camera/lens requires manual focus adjustments, maybe switch to your setup with autofocus.
5. Don't Stand Out
A lot of equipment can draw attention, and attention is something you want to avoid when shooting porn in public. If you're slinging a big tripod over your shoulder with lights and camera cases in tow, you are asking for lookie-loos. Remain discreet by using the smallest equipment you own. If your shoot does require more or bigger items than you can carry in your pockets, pack it up in a tote/shopping bag or a casual backpack.
6. Get Familiar with Your Location Ahead of Time
This is starting to sound like a bank heist, but given the potential illegality, maybe there are some similarities?! If you are planning a public shoot, there is nothing worse than showing up to your location to find a lot more people than expected or an event occurring like a weekly farmers market. Scout out the place ahead of time and take note of foot traffic levels, security guards, security cameras, or anything else you want to avoid.
7. Always Be Ready
The best public porn shoots are often the ones that are spontaneous. You never know when you'll be sitting on a train and then suddenly find yourself in a completely empty passenger car. Sometimes opportunities like that just can't be planned. If you really want to make a public video, keep your camera on you at all times and seize the opportunities that come your way.
